Wire EDM

Wire EDM Technologies has ten Wire EDM machines to serve your needs. We offer both submerged and non-submerged machines with travels of 15.7 thick with 24.8 x 15.75 in the X and Y axis travels. 30 degrees taper is possible on parts of 15.7 thick.

Tolerances

The machines are operated in a clean, climate controlled environment. This ensures the machine tool is thermally stable, allowing us to hold tight tolerances of ± 0.0001. Operating in this environment also ensures accuracy across the entire machine tool travel.

Industry Best Surface Finish

Our surface finish capabilities are the best in the business. We can achieve a CH-2 or 3.14 micro inch finish. Surface integrity is 0.0001 after 4 passes. In the case of cutting mold details too small to be benched, we can have the polishing done before it leaves our facility, saving you time and money.

Four (4) Axis Machining Specialists

We specialize in 4 axis tapering work, which can be cut via solid, surface and wireframe models. This consists of moving the upper and lower heads independently of each other, creating different shapes on the top and bottom of the part. A good example of 4-axis wire work would be aluminium extrusion dies.

Small Wire Capabilities

Running small wire diameters allow for a smaller inside corner radius, which is sometimes necessary. We have a machine set up to run .004 dia. wire at all times (inside radius of .003). We can use as small as .002 dia. if required.

Automatic Threading

Our machines have the ability to cut, thread and rethread the wire without operator assistance. This allows for lights out machining, reducing the time and cost to complete jobs.
